END OF SCHOOL YEAR INFORMATION
FOR DIRKS ANDERSON ELEMENTARY
All Fort Davis ISD students will return all school materials including books, computers, chargers, calculators, and other electronics and pick up personal belongings on Monday, May 18.
To maintain social distancing requirements, each class will have a specific time to come to the campuses.
9 a.m. - PreK and 1st grade
9:30 - Kindergarten and 2nd grade
10 a.m. - 3rd grade (last name A-M)
10:30 a.m. - 3rd grade (last Name N-Z)
11 a.m. - 4th grade
11:30 a.m. - 5th grade
PreK and Kindergarten students will enter through the gate in the staff parking lot and walk to the classroom.
All other students will enter through the front door of the school.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience. We also appreciate all your help to make this a successful school year, with both at school learning and at home learning.

The Food Pantry of Jeff Davis County will be distributing food today at the public library instead of the elementary school because of the weather. All families are welcome. Food boxes include fresh produce. Please stop by between 10 a.m. and noon.
Monday, May 11 drop off times for students: PreK-10 am; Kinder-10:20am; 1st-10:40am; 2nd-11am; 4th-11:20am; 5th-11:40am.
No 3rd Grade paper assignments. Please check if your child has missing assignments or contact her/his teacher. All assignments due May 15.
Food Pantry will distribute food boxes. All families are welcome to pick up food.

END OF SCHOOL YEAR INFORMATION
Dear Parent/Guardian/Student,
Due to Governor Abbott’s Executive Order extending the closure of schools in Texas, Fort Davis ISD has decided to make the following changes to our 2019-2020 school calendar.
May 8 Last day of instruction
This is the last day that teachers will send assignments to students.
May 13 Last day for seniors to submit all school assignments.
May 15 Last day for students to submit all assignments, quizzes, etc.
Students must have all assignments submitted online to teachers or delivered to the school for paper assignments.
May 18-20 Students turn in school materials and equipment during assigned dates/times.
Students will turn in all computers, hotspots, calculators, textbooks, athletic equipment, and other school property. Students will also pick up their personal items.
May 22 Graduation Ceremony
The details for the graduation ceremony will be provided as soon as possible via letter to seniors, student email, FDISD website, and Fort Davis Indian Facebook page.
We greatly value our partnership with you, as the parents and guardians of our students. We recognize the challenges that have been placed upon your family and appreciate your time and effort to assist your child with remote and online instruction during this unprecedented time. Honoring Our Seniors Under the Friday Night Lights!
The lights at Bart Coan Football Field will turn on tonight, May 1st, from 8:00pm-9:00pm in honor of the Class of 2020 and as a sign of hope and encouragement for our community.
The Fight Song and the School Song will be played over the sound system at 8:20pm (20:20 military time). Please respect social distancing and enjoy from the safety of your vehicle if you choose to come by. Please do not congregate on the field.

FDJSHS Getting Ready for Student Council Elections
The Fort Davis Junior-Senior High School Student Council will hold officer elections on Tuesday, May 5. If you would like to run for office, please let Mrs. Pittman know by email (spittman@fdisd.com) by Friday, May 1, 2020.
All officers should have a cumulative GPA of 80.
The candidates for President and Vice President should be a Sophomore or Junior at the time of the election.
The candidates for Secretary and Treasurer must be in 8 – 11th grade at the time of the election.

Progress Reports Mailed Home
Fort Davis schools have mailed home the last progress report of grades for the school year. This report will give parents an idea of how their students are completing work so far. All students must have all classwork completed and turned in to the teacher by Friday, May 15th. (The deadline for seniors to complete all work is May 13th.) At that time, final grades for the 6th six weeks will be recorded for report cards.
If your child needs help with assignments, please email the teacher or call the campus principals.
