Second graders had a cookie adventure! They read “Catch that Cookie”, and mixed and baked cookies. Then, the hunt began as they searched all around the school and caught those cookies! Holiday fun!

The Fort Davis CX Debate Team kicks off the season at the Lubbock High School Tournament. Debating were partners Ashley Martini and Paul Pittman, and Charis and Jeremy Miles. Pittman and Martini were quarter finalists!


State troopers Borchardt, Cacho, and Flores spent some time this morning playing basketball with Kindergarten, 1st graders and 2nd graders. Everyone had a great time. We sure appreciate our Troopers!





Dirks-Anderson is having a winter food drive to benefit the Food Pantry of Jeff Davis County. All students are asked to bring a non-perishable item to school before Dec. 18. Thanks for helping us support our community!

Fort Davis JH and HS students wowed crowds once again at the Chamber of Commerce’s Frontier Christmas festivities. Students performed 6 traditional dances in their colorful costumes.





Lunch on Tuesday, tomorrow, will be extended until 2:10 pm for junior high and high school students only. Elementary students will be on a normal schedule. Call 426-4444 if you have any questions.

Jeff Davis County Livestock Show 2019





First class in the first show in our new Bob Dillard Memorial Show Barn and James and Jan Dyer FDISD Agriculture Building. All made possible from the many donations, large and small, from our community members near and far. What a beautiful day in Fort Davis!





FFA and Ag class students were preparing for today’s Jeff Davis County Livestock Show. The show will begin at 10:00am at FDISD’s new Bob Dillard Memorial Show Barn/James and Jan Dyer Agricultural Building. Come out and watch the students show their animals and support them in their hard work!

The Fort Davis Chapters of National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society hosted the 2019 Inductee Ceremony on Wednesday, November 20th. These new members represent the scholarship, leadership, service, and character of Fort Davis Junior-Senior High School. Thank you to our officers and members for making this a memorable occasion. Congratulations to our new NHS members Elizabeth Lara and Max Williamson and our new NJHS members Sawyer Downing, Hunter Grado, John Miles, Evelyn Ramos Arredondo, and Bo Williamson!




Ms. Sanchez followed the directions that 4th graders wrote on how to make pb&j sandwiches. Always learning and having fun!



Ranger Bill Manhart, NPS, presented a flag lesson to fifth graders this week. Students learned about the history of our nation's flag, how a flag is properly folded and what each fold represents. Students also learned about symbolism and designed their own flags. Always learning!





Our kindergarten and first graders joined Valentine students for a Chinati Foundation tour in Marfa and art activities with Michael Roach. We are always learning!





First graders retell a story of Thanksgiving. We are always learning!
