WAYS TO HELP YOUR CHILD WHILE LEARNING AT HOME
We understand that during this time of your child's home instruction, it can be stressful at times. Below are some recommendations for you to help your child be successful, and to help you lower the stress level:
• Establish a daily routine that supports your child’s learning. If you can, find a comfortable, quiet space to work.
• Check your child’s online communication every day:
o Fort Davis student email (grades 6-12)
o Google Classroom (grades 2-12)
o College emails/Blackboard accounts (some in grades 11-12)
• Create a calendar or list of assignments and when they are due. Post on the fridge or another place that everyone can see.
• Complete assignments fully and on time (paper and/or online for grades PK-5) and (online only for grades 6-12). Teachers are recording grades and providing feedback. Parents will continue to receive report cards and progress reports.
• Email the teachers if you have questions or issues. Email addresses are located at www.fdisd.com
• Email the technology director for computer or internet issues at lgonzalez@fdisd.com
• Email the principal for other questions or concerns at:
o ascott@fdisd.com for students in grades PK-5
o slporter@fdisd.com for students in grades 6-12
• Email the counselor for assistance at tbaker@fdisd.com
• Take breaks, play, be active
We miss our students and will see you soon! Go Indians!

We miss our students and hope you are all well. The most important thing you can do right now is stay at home, practice social distancing, wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds, disinfect frequently touched surfaces and avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth.

A big shout out to one of our FDISD parents, Sarah Medley, for posting this letter to all of our teachers
An open letter to all the FDISD teachers,
Thank you.
Thank you for going above and beyond for our kids.
Thank you for taking the time and effort to put together a parade, something seemingly so small, that meant so much. You provided a window of normalcy for our kiddos in this time of chaos. If I'm being totally honest, I cried watching Y'all come down the road. My boy was so so excited to see all of you!
Thank you for taking the time to put together live lessons, and allowing them to not only participate, but connect with you and their classmates. (Lord knows you need an award for that alone!) It is so good for them to get to see their school family, and I've definitely noticed a difference in Harper with just that alone.
And most importantly, thank you for loving these kids. It shows, and for that I am so thankful. Our children are so blessed to have a school, and community, willing to do what you do daily.
Loving You All ❤,
A Grateful Momma
We are grateful for all the parents who are supporting their children and our district as we go through this challenging time. Thank you!

Teacher Parade - today at 6:00 p.m.!! We are starting at the junior high parking lot, then to the Fort Davis Estates, and then through town. Come out and wave to us! Be sure and keep your social distance. Stay safe and keep learning!
