Pizza! Pizza! Pizza! Friday is Pizza Lunch at Dirks-Anderson. Orders due today - $7 for 2 slices of pizza, chips, fruit snack, water. Concession treats at 3:30 p.m. - ring pops, push pops, Gatorade & pickles $1 each. Proceeds pay for field trips, activities, and supplies.

Dirks-Anderson Elementary School calendar change - The Spring into Reading event has been rescheduled to Tuesday, March 24. We will send out information soon. This is for Grades Pre-K - 2nd students and families.

Celebrating Dr. Seuss with 5th Grade Reader Theater presenting “The Star-Bellied Sneetches” , and “Zax.”



TEA posted the following as reminder of what individuals can do to slow the spread of flu and other viruses such as the Coronavirus:
All individuals are encouraged to:
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
If you’ve not already gotten one, a flu shot is encouraged.

Tom Tefertiller, KOSA, CBS Channel 7 Chief Meteorologist presented strategies of weather forcasting to Science students at Dirks-Anderson Elementary today! Camera operator Rudy Jacquez recorded the lesson. The recording will be shown at 5 pm today on Channel 7 News




Davis Mountain State Park Ranger Ty teaching 2nd grade all about animal adaptations today.





Next week is Dr. Seuss week! In honor of one of our favorite authors, we are going to have Dr. Seuss Spirit Week to celebrate reading!
Each day will coordinate with one of our favorite Dr. Seuss books.
Monday: Cat in the Hat – wear a fun hat
Tuesday: Fox in Socks- wear crazy or fun socks
Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday- wear wacky clothes, such as mismatched or backwards
Thursday: Oh, the Places You’ll Go- wear a college jersey or t-shirt
Friday: One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish- Wear a red or blue shirt


James Weaver, Texas Wildlife Biologist and Will Rhodes, District/County Wildlife Biologist, presented a lesson on animal adaptations today. Students compared structures and functions of different species that help these species live and survive in specific environments.





Send off for the HS boys' basketball team is today at 4:00pm in the front of the high school building, as they travel to Sul Ross State University for the Bi-District playoff game.

Congratulations to Paul Pittman on receiving the Good Citizen Award from the Paisano Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Presenting the award on Sunday, February 23rd in Alpine is Kay Houston.
