Hey FD Football Fans... The JH football game on this Thursday, October 24th in Rankin will be at 5:00pm. The HS game is still at 7:30pm. Go Indians!

It's Goat and Lamb Validation Time! All FFA and 4H students showing goats and lambs in this year's stock shows need to validate your animals this Sunday, October 27th at the Alpine Show Barn. Goat validation is 1:00pm-2:30pm. Lamb validation is 2:30pm-3:30pm. For questions, please contact Mayle Chambliss, FFA Advisor, at 432-426-4444.

We are going to the Pumpkin Patch! All Dirks-Anderson students and staff will travel to Mandujano Brothers Pumpkin Patch in Cayanosa. Wednesday, October 23. We will leave at 8 a.m. and return by 3:45 p.m. We will eat lunch at the Pumpkin Patch. Students need to bring: a sack lunch, bottle of water and a hat. Students must wear jeans or pants and closed shoes, no sandals. Students may bring spending money for the gift shop.

Celebrating National Earth Science Week, our 5th grade students learn about renewable energy resources; the effects of weathering, erosion and deposition; groundwater; rocks and minerals mined in the region; levers and pulleys used in mining; and they get to hike one of the trails to learn first-hand about land formations and the effects of geological forces at work while visiting CDRI.

Fort Davis PreK and Kindergarten students and Valentine Kindergarten students learned about fire safety today at the Fort Davis Volunteer Fire Department today.

Congratulations to our Cross Country runners! They competed in the District Cross Country Meet yesterday in Marfa. JH runners were John Miles and Bo Williamson. The HS young ladies also included Ashley Martini and Charis Miles. HS runners advancing to regionals in San Angelo on October 28 are: Victoria Alvarado-8th place Crystal Power-9th place Shadix Wetzel-2nd place Boys’ Team (Henry Downing, Adam Gallegos, Oscar Morales, Blake Rubio, Haden Wetzel, Shadix Wetzel, Jason Woosley)-2nd place Way to go Green! Good luck at regionals!!

Reserve your ticket now for the upcoming Murder Mystery Dinner Theater “Mates Meet Again,” sponsored by Fort Davis Children's Theatre and featuring the Fort Davis High School One-Act Play Troupe. Read Fort Davis begins again this year!! We need volunteers to read to our elementary students. New volunteers are invited to a meeting to learn more about it today at 1:30 and 4:30. You only need to commit to one 30-minute session, once a week, for 6 weeks. Or, you can read with your group for as many weeks as you would like. Elementary will have afternoon concession items for sale at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the gym. Popsicle, Gatorade, Ring Pop, and Pickle - each item is $1. Send your order and money with the Pizza Lunch order form to school by tomorrow (10/10/19)

Mini Cheer Schedule for Homecoming Week

It’s Wacky Day! Homecoming week continues with all kinds of fun. The Homecoming Parade rolls at 7 pm Thursday followed by the pep rally on the football field. Elementary students who are riding in the parade should be at the school by 6:30. Parents - please meet your child at the high school parking where the parade will end.

Kindergarten students will sell Homecoming Spirit Ribbons Thursday and Friday for $1. Show your Fort Davis Homecoming Pride!

Football and Volleyball Schedule Changes Please make note of the following changes to the football and volleyball schedules: Volleyball October 5 JV is canceled V plays at 1:00 in Fort Davis Football JH game moved to Oct. 31; 5:30pm in Balmorhea HS game is still on Nov. 1; 7:30pm in Balmorhea Go Indians!

Dirks-Anderson's first awards program of the year will be at 8 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4. We will recognize students who have earned a spot on the A honor roll and A-B honor roll and those who have perfect attendance for the first 6-weeks. All are welcome!
