HS football practice update for week of Aug 15:
The scrimmage at Van Horn Thursday starts at 10am. Bus leaves at 7:45 am that morning.
Practice for Monday-Wednesday will be from 6:00-9:00pm
Friday practice will be from 6:00-8:30pm.
Please note this change for Grades 6, 7, and 8:

We have some slight changes to our bell schedules this year. Here are the times for the regular bell schedules:
JH/HS
1st bell - 7:55 am
Lunch - 12:15 pm to 1:15 pm
Last bell - 3:51 pm
JH and HS students are reminded that NO food or drinks are allowed into the classrooms. Students that bring in food or drinks in the mornings, or after lunch, will be asked to throw those items away.
DA Elementary
Breakfast - 7:25 am to 7:50 am
1st bell - 7:55 am
Lunch - 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm
Last bell - 3:45 pm
Elementary students that do not plan to eat the free breakfast are encouraged to show up at 7:45 am.
Bell schedules for shortened days, or early release days, will be published later.

Registration for the new school year will begin on Monday, August 8, from 9 am to 3:30 pm daily. New students must be accompanied by their parents with copies of immunizations, Social Security cards, proof of residency, and parent ID's. Registration packets may be picked up at the individual campus offices. The first day of school is Monday, August 22.

This is a reminder that physicals for Junior High and High School athletes will be given tomorrow morning for girls and tomorrow afternoon for boys at the Fort Davis Family Practice. Physical packets were mailed out last week. If you did not receive a packet in the mail, physical forms can be picked up at the school office. Free athletic physicals for Junior High and High School students planning on playing a sport this school year will be given on Tuesday, July 26th at the Fort Davis Family Practice. Physical form packets are being mailed out and should be completed prior to arrival at the clinic. Girls physicals will be in the morning and boys physicals will be given in the afternoon. If your child did not receive a packet in the mail, you can pick one up at the school office.
The regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees on August 8 has been rescheduled for Monday, August 1, at 7:00 pm.
Little update on day 2:
Both squads and chief Victorio received another spirit stick last night! Maite Morales was awarded the Pin It Forward Award. Pin it Forward is a program at UCA camp thats recognizes standout cheerleaders who portray the following characteristics: Leadership, Spirit, Commitment, Kindness, and Motivation. Once a cheerleader receives the two pins, they will find another cheerleader who demonstrates those same qualities and “Pin It Forward”.

Busy week for your Fort Davis cheer squads. They have been working hard to get ready for those Friday Night Lights at UCA Camp at Texas Tech University!
Day 1 of camp : both squads and chief Victorio received a spirit stick!
Day 2: The Squad was evaluated on their sideline and cheer today receiving a blue Superior ribbon (top award)!

We are excited to offer the community access to our tennis courts during the day and, now, at NIGHT! The new lights are in. The new lights are on a one hour timer, which can be accessed at the south east corner of the courts. Simply open the switch box and turn the timer clockwise. The lights were made possible with a grant from the King Foundation and local donations. Enjoy!

Fort Davis Cheer is having a bake sale at Porter’s this morning! Come out and support the ladies and their plans for next year. Proceeds are used to help with uniforms, material, and cheer camp.
