The community of Fort Davis, including our students, families, and staff, has experienced a great deal of tragedy in the last few months. We have lost many loved ones and continue to see more struggle with illness. Even though we just finished a Christmas and New Year break, it seems we desperately need some more time to process the conflicting emotions that come with renewal and loss. An FDISD staff member has lost a spouse, whose funeral services will be on Tuesday, at 11 am. FDISD is also hosting the funeral for George Grubb, Jr., on Wednesday, at 2 pm. Due to our recent losses and the community's grappling with illness, FDISD will NOT have school on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. We will have school at regular times on Monday, be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, and return to normal hours on Thursday and Friday. Please take this time to grieve, and support our families and friends.
