FD cheer earned a blue ribbon (highest achievement) for their Gameday Cheer Performance today at UCA cheer camp at San Angelo State University.
FD cheer squads received a spirit stick and Rebekah Hicks received the Pin It Forward Award from UCA staff.

What: Hummingbird art in any form. Submissions can include paintings, drawings, sculpture, jewelry, and collage. Use your imagination!
Where: Drop off your hummingbird art in the art boxes at the library or at the Fort Davis Chamber of Commerce during business hours. Your artwork will be displayed at the library.
When: All entries must be received by Aug. 15. The art show will run from Aug. 20-29.
Rules: All artwork must have the artist’s name, age, and contact information on the back. You may pick up your artwork at the library between Sept. 3 and Sept. 14, 2019.

Missoula Children’s Theatre is here this week preparing its fun version of Aladdin. Area children practice for a week and then curtains open on Saturday. There will be two shows - 2 pm and 7 pm. Free admission. This annual event is hosted by Fort Davis Children’s Theatre
FDISD Board of Trustees attending TASB Summer Leadership Institute training in San Antonio. House Bill 3, and other legislation, has created significant changes to many areas of public education. Thank You to the Board for their dedication!
Our school year ended with some amazing volunteers reading to all of our students. Volunteers from Fort Davis, Alpine, and Marfa made the year special. Read Fort Davis will begin again in October. We can't wait to see what a new year of Read Fort Davis brings!

Dirks-Anderson students are creating Brag Boards this year to show some of the many things they learned, accomplished, and created this year. Fourth graders visited the 1st grade room today to help the younger students prepare their boards. We are so proud of our students. The boards will be displayed during our end of year program Thursday

Free hot dog lunch today at Dirks-Anderson for students and staff. Lunch will begin at 12 p.m. followed by games in the gym. The concession sales will begin at 2 p.m. - push pops, Gatorade, pickles, ring pops for sale for $1 each. School will dismiss at 2:35 p.m.
School begins at 8:55 a.m. and will dismiss at 2:35 p.m. today. Dirks-Anderson water activities have been cancelled due to today's weather. Activities will be held in the gym beginning at 12:30 p.m.
