Elementary students are invited to wear a costume to school Thursday, Oct. 31. Students will report to their classrooms at 7:45 a.m. to line up for the parade. Families, friends, and community will meet in the gym. A 8 a.m. we will start the parade through the gym!
After the parade, students will return to the classroom,
and change into school clothes.
All are welcome. Please join us for this fun event!

It's Goat and Lamb Validation Time!
All FFA and 4H students showing goats and lambs in this year's stock shows need to validate your animals this Sunday, October 27th at the Alpine Show Barn. Goat validation is 1:00pm-2:30pm. Lamb validation is 2:30pm-3:30pm.

All Dirks-Anderson students and staff will travel to
Mandujano Brothers Pumpkin Patch in Cayanosa.
Wednesday, October 23. We will leave at 8 a.m. and return by 3:45 p.m.
We will eat lunch at the Pumpkin Patch.
Students need to bring: a sack lunch, bottle of water and a hat. Students must wear jeans or pants and closed shoes, no sandals. Students may bring spending money for the gift shop.
Celebrating National Earth Science Week, our 5th grade students learn about renewable energy resources; the effects of weathering, erosion and deposition; groundwater; rocks and minerals mined in the region; levers and pulleys used in mining; and they get to hike one of the trails to learn first-hand about land formations and the effects of geological
forces at work while visiting CDRI.

Fort Davis PreK and Kindergarten students and Valentine Kindergarten students learned about fire safety today at the Fort Davis Volunteer Fire Department today.
Congratulations to our Cross Country runners! They competed in the District Cross Country Meet yesterday in Marfa. JH runners were John Miles and Bo Williamson. The HS young ladies also included Ashley Martini and Charis Miles. HS runners advancing to regionals in San Angelo on October 28 are:

Read Fort Davis begins again this year!! We need volunteers to read to our elementary students. New volunteers are invited to a meeting to learn more about it today at 1:30 and 4:30. You only need to commit to one 30-minute session, once a week, for 6 weeks. Or, you can read with your group for as many weeks as you would like.
