HB 4545 has created several new requirements for all students in the state that did NOT pass their STAAR tests this past spring.  Please click HERE to see the information page from TEA.  Please click HERE for the frequently asked questions (FAQ's) regarding HB 4545.  These requirements must be implemented for all students that failed to pass the Spring 2021 STAAR assessement, regardless of where the child(ren) may enroll within the state for the 2021-2022 school year.

FDISD is committed to providing robust remediation for all students that did not pass their STAAR tests this past spring, but we need as much help and cooperation from our parents and families as we can get.  Our students are our highest priority.  These new requirements may affect some students' options with regard to extra-curricular practices and participation because academic performance is the primary purpose for the district.  Specific parents will be contacted by campus staff to schedule the Accelerated Learning Committee meeting for their child(ren).   Much of the remediation will be delivered during the scheduled school day, however some students may be required to attend remediation sessions before school, after school, or both.  Please remember, this action is a result of your child's performance on the STAAR assessments and NOT related to report card grades.  We can meet this challenge and prepare our children for success on the upcoming 2022 tests if we work together.

Call your child's campus principal if you have more questions.
