High school is a memorable time in a teenager’s life.  Sports, school, and friends, are all part of the teenage years, most of the time the teenage years includes ones very first job.  Local businesses, mostly stores and restaurants are interested in hiring high school students.

Getting a job is a big step in anybody’s life; it takes great responsibility to manage time for school and work.  Getting a job as a teenager is a great opportunity, students become responsible and less dependent, but lose time for other activities, including time to socialize, or work on homework.  Although on the other hand, not working in high school allows a teen to simply concentrate on what is more “important” during these years.

Not working does have great advantages, but dependency on parents becomes greater, as the demands of life increases.  Employment does depend on the person, and what factors into a daily schedule, along with the ability to balance both school and work.
