DISTRICT IMPROVEMENT AND SITE BASED DECISION MAKING

The district is comprised of two (2) physical campuses, but is designated as one (1) campus for reporting purposes; therefore, the district plan is the same as the campus plan. The District Improvement and Site-Based Committee meet periodically (at least annually) to perform Needs Assessment and review the District Improvement Plan. The plan is then provided to the Board of Trustees for approval, but updated as needed throughout the school year. The DIC also recommends annual school calendars, teacher staff development, and other student safety and academic performance improvement strategies.

SCHOOL HEALTH ADVISORY COUNCIL (SHAC)

The SHAC meets periodically to evaluate member training requirements, student physical activity requirements during the year, student fitness assessment needs, penalities and student discipline consequences for use of E-cigs and/or tobacco products at school, suicide prevention and awareness needs, coordinated health programs, health education requirements for graduation, parenting and paternity awareness (p.a.p.a.) programs, local wellness policy, student sex education curriculum, and bullying prevention and awareness needs.
